after the flood water recedes
homes and places
a gold dust that comforts us:
a dark past is redeemed in soft blue,
thinly veiled by regret
for days that the rain has taken away
later, any offense is forgiven
in a final coral
in a few hours, aided by heaven, so the memory
lights,
inflamed and discolored.
